Touch
In this series, carried out over two years as a Art student in High School, I explored the notion of Touch. I spent time with special needs children and blind adults to attempt to understand how there touch expressed itself in their portraiture. I also spent hours doing blind drawings of my face, in various large sizes to distance myself from the memory or constraints of my visual perceptions. I then used one of these portrait as the foundation for a series in various mediums and sizes. Included was a metallic statue, flower bud collages, black and white etchings, or a large scale mix media textile piece (on left) .
