Touch Rising

Revisiting her first series on Touch carried when she was 18, Sarah deconstructed the original portraits, by burning the drawings and painting anew with the ash. Such an alchemical process the fire transmuted the old self portraits and created a material that when used resembled gold. The pieces are a celebration of personal transformation and of the power of becoming, the middle life be-coming, the kundalini rising of self.
